Simple Sandwiches

Hello People,
This sandwich for me dates back to when I was in Nursery School, my Mum loved to make it for us, most times as breakfast or snack to school. We used to enjoy it with hot chocolate or a cup of cold ribena (good old days).
It can be served as a finger food during parties.
I call it simple, cos all the ingredients needed are most times, if not always available in your kitchen and it takes less than 15 minutes to prepare.
So here goes it:

My simple sandwich & a cup of hot chocolate

Ingredients:
For Sandwich:
Sliced Bread
1/2 Tin of Corned Beef (alternatively, a tin of sardine)
30g of butter
1Tin of evaporated milk

Tools:
Chopping Board
Bread Knife

Direction:
1. Mix the corned beef, milk and butter together to make a smooth paste
2. Rub in the paste on one side of each bread slice, stick 2slices together.
3. Cut of the edges from the bread, then slice diagonally.
Voila! Your simple sandwich! I enjoyed mine with a Cup of hot chocolate. You can enjoy yours with a cold glass of juice, hot cup of  tea /coffee or any beverage of your choice

  3. Thanks Sandra,
Maame Esi, it won't make it runny. You don't need to use too much. The milk is to make the mixture creamy & bind the corned beef and butter together

Babies: How to Make Potato and Carrot Purée

Hello People, Today's recipe is for the special "bundles" in our lives, I mean babies. Babies are so sweet, lovable, tender, beautiful, cute... *add your own adjective(s). It is recommended at birth, that you exclusively breastfeed your new born for the first six (6) months of life as this is of great benefit to both child and mother, especially to the baby as it protects against illnesses and builds their immune system. Not every mother can go all the way, some supplement breastfeeding with formula (baby milk such as SMA, NAN etc) while others breast feed exclusively for the first six (6) months. Whichever method you choose, at the end of six (6) months you will be faced with "introduction of solid foods" to your baby. At the 6 month mark, some first foods to try are creamy avocados, apple sauce, sweet potato puree, bananas and the like. Many mums (especially new ones) run out of ideas on what to give to their babies so they resort to buying canned baby food...
